How to get Cheaper Car Rental |

Most rental companies are keen to rent out cars they are not making use of, cars parked on the lot are simply not bringing in any income. You’ll be amazed at the discounts you can obtain simply by asking for them, or by doing some research. By following these handy tips, you can get cheaper car hire just about anywhere in the world. Enjoy your vacation!
Enquire about Discounts
Don’t be afraid to ask your car rental company for a discount, you may be surprised what they have on offer, they may also give discounts for memberships such as AAA, USAA, AARP or other organisations.
Early Bookings
If you know the dates of your trip well in advance, check out car rental prices available at that time. Many car rental companies offer big discounts to early renters.
Late Bookings!
Cars just sitting on the lot are not making money, so as your trip draws near why not approach car rental companies, check the availability and ask for a discount.
Hire the Smallest Vehicle
Find out how many passengers will be travelling with you and don’t forget to account for the luggage - then book the smallest car that will accommodate all. It is possible that the car rental company will be out of this car and will provide you with a free upgrade to the next class. If this is not the case enquire about complimentary upgrades!
Research is Key
It is important to evaluate rates from a range of car rental companies which can be done through a number of sources - online, over the phone, or by looking at ads in newspapers and magazines. Many companies will offer discounts of up to 10% if you book online or from coupons!
Pick up your Car in Town
You are likely to pay over the odds for the convenience of picking up your car at the airport. By picking a car in town you are likely to save money. Many car rental companies offer free shuttles to and from the airport.
Fill it up with Gas!
Car rental companies are charging high prices for a gallon of gas; you can save yourself a fortune by putting the gas in yourself on your way to return the car. |

The first time we were in Florida the guy at the rental desk saw there were 5 of us and said Ooh the car youve chosen is far too small, Id recommend you upgrade. We went ahead and got a bigger car, but when we went outside the car was absolutely huge! Everything in America is supersize, so unless you absolutely need the space you can save a lot of money by just going for a smaller car.
