Indonesia, a large archipelago in South East Asia, with ethnic, cultural and linguistic diversity and has many spectacular and adventurous places to visit. Small volcanic though picturesque island of Bali, with forests and beaches, make the perfect backdrop.
Bali has great culture and art, with many art galleries, high class restaurants, spas, shops, and temples, give tourists many opportunities to spend their time.
The remote Lore Lindu National Park is ideal for trekkers, and contains many exotic plant and animal life. You can follow many different short trails which dont require a guide, trails to a high waterfall, a hot water springs, are only a few of the choices available.
Kelimutu coloured lakes in Nusa Tenggara are a spectacular sight, the lakes are all different colours and also naturally change hue, thought to be caused by dissolving minerals. Another popular destination for tourists is North Sumatra, with South East Asias largest lake Danau Toba with many waterside resorts.
Most meals are spiced, fried or served with rice; noodles and rice are popular and considered essential fuel. Main meats in meals are seafood, chicken, goat and beef. Mobile stalls are the cheapest places to eat; they cook your order on the spot.
Indonesias weather is hot all year round even in the wet season, October to April, though the Northern islands tend to be wet all year round. The dry season, May to September, temperatures can climb to 31°C in the coastal regions, though there is not much difference to the inland temperatures which is just a bit lower.
