The ocean is within walking distance 800 yards. It is a short drive to the community soundside beach which is great for small children. There are restuarants and grocery stores within 3 miles. The nearest airport is Norfolk, VA and is 75 miles. Some of the sightseeing attractions available in the area are: Roanoke Festival Park, The Lost Colony, Elizabethan Gardens, Elizabeth II Historical Site, Fort Raleigh National Historical Site, Wright Brothers National Memorial, Jockeys Ridge State Park, North Carolina Aquarium, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Corolla Wild Horses, and The Whalehead Club. It is also only a short distance to local golf courses and fishing from the surf as well as that deep sea fishing trip.
