The Elfs Cottage is a pretty village house built of mellow stone where can Be accomodate confortable 3 people it set in the tiny hilltop village of Lanciole and formed from part of a huge stone building dating back to the 1200s - and which a Ghibelline castle. The Ghibellines who sided with the holy roman Emperor fought aginst the Guelphs who supported the Pope over the right to rule the nothern part of Italy. In the Castle there are two properties the Fairy and the Elf. The Village lies in the hills to the north of Pescia and Montecatini - a very picturesque area ideal for touring or relaxing in delightful surroundings. The property itself is full character with a cosy cottage feel where you will feel really at home. The property is reached up stone steps leading to a delightful terrace which has outstanding views to the surrounding woodland. The entrance from the church historical side into an original sitting-room with a ceramic fireplace/stove, stone floor and walls, a beautiful culumn with family coats of arms, a confortable double sofa, satellite TV, dvd, a stereo and this room look a side to the woodland and the other to the church side. The adjacent Kitchen country-modern gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dish-washer, beamed ceiling really original, look to the surrounding area. A 1700 door from the kitchen leads into a small original bathroom, with old tub with feet, basin and wc, the window look to the church side. Open tread stairs from the kitchen lead to a first floor. A double room liberty bed and a wardrobe and a 1800 toilette with mirror look to the surrounding woodland and to the ancient rival hamlet in front, beamed ceiling and antique terracotta floor. Furnishings throughout are tastefully rustic with additional antique pieces. Central heating and a mobile phone is available for you during your visit.incuded in the price The elf is a wonderful place where spend your honeymoon in a really romantic setting or to stay confortable for a little family of 3 childrens included It is also the only house in the village having a terraced garden 600 square m., with independent entrance, private barbeque garden features and a small above ground pool 7mx4m. The Castle sits at the edge of the little village and is surrounded by miles of woodlandwhere you can enjoy long walks and the whole area is a patchwork of medieval hilltop villages which are all worth a visit. Lanciole, though tiny, has a bar/pizzeria which also sells a few basic foodstuffs whilst in ancient times the village was known to have produced lancia or spears and other arms. The area makes a good base for touring being within easy driving distance of many famous places including Lucca, Pisa and Florence.
