The location This private country house is in a unique location a short distance from the medieval town centre of Sarlat. Approached via its own private drive and gated entrance there is ample private parking, grounds and gardens surround the house with panoramic views over the town below. There is a private terrace, pool side terrace and private pool. Local shops and supermarkets are a five minute walk away. The owners / staff are on site in self contained separate quarters and will meet and greet you on arrival as well as maintaining the gardens and pool. They are available should you need but will otherwise rest discreet and will be happy to help or answer any questions. The house is just a stroll down the hill into the centre of Sarlat with its many restaurants, pavement cafes, bars and shops. Everything is nearby so you can leave the car behind with no cares about driving, parking or having a drink with dinner. A trip out to nearby Beynac and La Roque Gageac are not to be missed, the former is one of the most visted chateaux in France (after Versailles) and the latter is a stunningly beautiful village under towering cliffs. Take a traditional Gabare (flat bottomed sailing boat) for a trip on the River Dordogne or for the more adventurous canoe hire is available. Staying at the country house offers traditional character with quality decor and furnishings, from the pictures and tapestry to the magnificent chateau stone fireplace.
