Australia, an ancient land with sunny climate, the Outback and many deserts. Due to its harsh interior, Australia is a coastal country with most of the population living within 20km of the ocean.

There are many places in Australia worth a visit, laid out on either side of the Torrens River is Adelaide, theres Syndey, home to the 2000 Olympics, Queensland with the Great Barrier Reer located off its shores, and then theres Melbourne, Australias second-largest city.

Melbourne has an exceptionally high ratio of eating places to people, so you are spoiled for places to eat. It is highly reccommended to try Contemporary Australian cuisine which is an sensational mix of many tastes and influences from around the world.

Australias currency is the Australian dollar and Australia is considered to be expensive on a day-to-day basis. Basic costs in a day is roughly $60 a day for food, drink, transport, and board. Food is generally cheap, with cafe main meals around $12 and a three course meal in a restaurant is around $30. Money can be saved by bringing your own drink as a lot of restuarants do let you bring your own.

The weather can get hot everywhere during the summer months which are December to February, which is great beach weather during these months in the Southern States. A good time for visiting the Outback is from June to August, as the weather cools down and the rain from the summer months have dried up.
